Hanover Fair 2017Winner of the Hermes Award 2017
Schunk, manufacturer of gripper systems, has won the Hermes Award 2017. This was announced at the opening of the Hannover Messe 2017. The Federal Minister of Education and Research, Prof. Dr. Johanna Wanka, presented the industry prize, which is endowed with 100,000 euros.

The company has developed a cable laying technique for narrow routes up to two kilometers in length that reduces the amount of construction work required on the ground and enables simple cable replacement after laying. For this purpose, a cable transport pipe with an internal cable is guided through a water-filled empty conduit system without any tensile load.
