With the pressureless vacuum generator 'eta|vac' for handling tasks in robotics, the company Eta|opt from Kassel made it into the top three of this year's Robotics Award. The principle of the third-placed solution: a piston rod connected to a bellows is moved by an electromechanical linear drive. The bellows is connected to a commercially available suction cup for vacuum applications via a hose. The volume of the bellows can be increased or reduced by moving it up and down. This allows a vacuum to be generated up to the suction cup.
