EuRoC' research projectInnovative robotics solutions for industry
The current research project 'European Robotics Challenge' (EuRoC) has now selected six winning teams with their ideas for robotics applications. The final development stage is now imminent. Computer&AUTOMATION presents the innovative robotics solutions.

Flying robotic co-worker for factory maintenance: The 'GRV-Catec' team is working on enabling drones to position themselves precisely and navigate safely and autonomously indoors - in real-time scenarios and designed for cooperation with workers. Drones are very agile and therefore require a trained pilot to operate them. In addition, their flight range is limited to the visible area. This currently prevents their widespread use for applications such as inspection or logistics in factories. The aim of the developments is to offer factory personnel a fully autonomous system that helps them in their daily work and enables faster delivery rates or shorter lead times, for example.
