German companies seem to be aware of the benefits of predictive maintenance. Nevertheless, they are reluctant to implement it. This is confirmed by a recent survey conducted by the consulting firm BearingPoint.

The vast majority of the companies surveyed from the mechanical engineering, chemical/pharmaceutical and automotive sectors are addressing the issue of predictive maintenance. However, only one in four companies has already implemented initial projects.
