Predictive maintenance

Quelle: Baumüller Nürnberg | Inka Krischke,

Big data analysis included

Baudis IoT is a predictive maintenance system from Baumüller. In broad terms, the networked system consists of sensors, a 'Baudis IoT Box' and software with big data algorithms. Data is collected via decentralized sensors on the drive.

These record the motor status and can report bearing damage, for example. The recorded data is distributed in the solution via the 'Baudis IoT Box'. The system can be used independently of the manufacturer of the automation components and sensors. Furthermore, the system, which is actually used for predictive maintenance, uses big data analysis to maximize machine and system availability in production through plannable maintenance measures for all types of electric drive systems. In addition, the big data analysis on which maintenance is based can be used for process optimization. As the system issues warnings when necessary, monitoring can be used to optimize increases in output and load limits of the production systems without damaging the systems. The networking of plants and locations to an evaluation unit enables comparisons and thus further benefits.
