Increased operating safety

Rafi is expanding its range of industrial-grade capacitive 'Glasscape' touchscreens to include TwinTouch input technology, which evaluates not only touches on the panel but also the forces applied to it.

The combined touch/force measurement significantly increases operating safety. Capacitive switching or input surfaces on the user interface can be configured in such a way that a defined pressure force is required in addition to touch activation. This prevents false triggering due to unintentional contact with the touchscreen. The switching thresholds for the pressure force to be triggered can be individually adjusted via software. At the same time, the combined evaluation of touch and mechanical actuation makes it possible to implement additional input levels. This includes, for example, calling up context menus by pressing or parameter adjustments by varying the force applied to the same button. The system with displacement-free pressure force measurement guarantees reliable IP65 protection.
