Fast and controlled format changes

The intuitive SeGMo-Assist digital position indicator from Lenord+Bauer enables quick and controlled format changes, even in systems without fully automated adjustment.

For this purpose, the digital position indicator is slid onto the shaft end of the axis to be adjusted and communicates via bus interface with the controller, which sends set values and reads out actual values reported back. This allows the axes connected to the PLC to be monitored reliably.

The position is measured using an absolute encoder integrated into the device, which does not require a backup battery. When switched off, the drive shaft can be adjusted by ±129 revolutions without losing the multiturn absolute position. The display recognizes its position after power on or emergency stop and is immediately ready for use without a reference run.
The OLED display with backlighting shows the actual and target position, direction of rotation and operating status. Status and warning messages are clearly visible even from a few meters away. Up to ten customer-specific pictograms can also be loaded using an easy-to-use software tool.

Lenord+Bauer has summarized more on the subject of partial automation in a white paper.
