The ET-208 operator interfaces approved for zones 1 and 21 with a 7-inch widescreen and a hardened glass surface are protected on the front in accordance with protection class IP69. This means they meet FDA requirements for cleanroom suitability, as the front panel can be cleaned with high-pressure cleaners. The HMIs have a V2A stainless steel housing and are corrosion-resistant with certification to ISA-S71.04-1985, degree of severity G3, in accordance with EN 60068-2-6. They can also withstand seawater without any problems. They can be operated at ambient temperatures from -40 to +65 °C. A bright display and anti-reflective coating ensure good readability in outdoor use and in bright light. The HMIs have interfaces for Industrial Ethernet, RS422/RS485 and optional WLAN. The processor is the Cortex A8. As standard, the touch operating devices are set up with Windows Embedded Compact 7 as the operating system. The 'SPSPlusWIN' software can be used to create and edit screens, process connections and messages for the HMI devices.
