Simplified variant management
In the mapp CodeBox HTML5 application machine and plant builders now have a much easier way of managing variants of their machines. This tool enables them to program options in a ladder diagram without altering original machine software.
The basic functionality of a machine is still programmed in the customary development environment, defining data, functions and variables that mapp CodeBox will access. Special features and options can be added after in ladder logic. Splitting software for machine and options produces a number of advantages: Firstly it avoids subsequent programming of errors into machine software when implementing options or customizing. Secondly it very much simplifies managing all the variants. The HTML5 application can run on any browser-enabled device, with power flow visualization supporting diagnostics and maintenance. Ladder programs can be saved, versioned and transferred to other machines. They may also be imported back into the original automation project.
