New Chairman for VDMA Measurement and Testing Technology
On 18 July 2023, the board of the Association for Measuring and Testing Technology elected Dr. Marcus Korthäuer, Managing Partner of Espera-Werke in Duisburg, as its new Chairman.
Marcus Korthäuer succeeds Dieter Menne, who retired from active professional life at Mettler Toledo in the middle of the year and thus also relinquished the chairmanship of the trade association. Korthäuer has been a member of the board of the VDMA Measuring and Testing Technology Association since 2016 and also chairs the advisory board of the scale manufacturers.
In addition to his expertise as managing partner of a medium-sized, internationally active manufacturer of price and weight labeling systems, he brings extensive experience from voluntary activities in business and employers' associations as well as in the European scales association CECIP to the work of the board. He is particularly interested in strengthening the competitiveness of German industrial companies in an international comparison and reducing the burden of bureaucracy in Germany and Europe. In addition to optimizing processes, he sees the digital networking of measuring and testing components, machines and systems in production as both a challenge and an opportunity for manufacturers and customers.
