What innovations are there for industrial users on the measurement technology market? Computer&AUTOMATION has summarized a selection of new products in a series of pictures

The Combisensor from Micro-Epsilon measures the thickness of plastic films and insulators without contact. An eddy current displacement sensor and a capacitive displacement sensor are accommodated together in one housing. According to the manufacturer, this unique sensor concept enables one-sided thickness measurement of non-conductive materials that rest on metallic objects. The sensor is primarily used in the plastics industry, for example to determine the thickness of plastic coatings on metal plates or to measure adhesive applications. The individual signals as well as the difference between the capacitive and eddy current measurements can be output via the controller. The differential calculation of both sensor signals and the integrated temperature detection compensate for mechanical changes such as thermal expansion or deflection of the measuring device. Thanks to the high temperature stability, a high level of measurement accuracy should also be ensured even with fluctuating ambient temperatures. It is operated via a web interface. The controller also has Ethernet and EtherCAT interfaces.
