Display testing and optical measurement technology strengthened
Instrument Systems, a manufacturer of spectroradiometers, cameras and display and light measurement systems, acquires Kimsoptec, a Korean supplier of display measurement systems, to strengthen its core business areas of display testing and optical measurement technology.
Instrument Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Konica Minolta, Japan (Konica Minolta), plans to further expand its measurement solutions business in the fields of display, IR radiation sources and AR/VR measurement solutions for the Asian ICT and automotive markets. The company aims to expand these markets by developing additional sales channels to existing key accounts and system integrators in Korea. Kimsoptec is a technical consulting company and manufacturer of optical measuring instruments that has been the exclusive distributor of Instrument Systems' solutions in Korea since 2005.
The acquisition of Kimsoptec is expected to significantly strengthen the role of Instrument Systems within Konica Minolta's global network. It contributes to the further expansion of the Konica Minolta Group's Sensing division.
The purchase agreement was signed on July 26, 2022 and is expected to be completed by the end of August 2022.
