Two million euros for Industry 4.0 start-up

The Munich-based start-up Remberg has developed software that enables manufacturers, service providers and operators of industrial machinery to map all relevant service processes on a single platform.

On average, after-sales revenues include 2.5 times as much margin as new machine sales. With Remberg's Asset Relationship Management (ARM) system, machine manufacturers can centrally map service processes over the entire life cycle, even after the machine has been sold.

The start-up Remberg has developed cloud-based software for the digitalization of service processes, with which all important service processes such as maintenance and servicing relating to the machine are digitalized. This enables manufacturers to offer their customers documentation, service requests and spare parts orders digitally.

The four Munich-based founders David Hahn, Julian Madrzak, Hagen Schmidtchen and Cecil Wöbker have now received seed financing of two million euros from the VC funds Fly Ventures and Speedinvest as well as other business angels for the further development of their asset relationship management software.

25 % of sales in mechanical engineering are after-sales services

The ARM system is a cloud-based software solution that collects all relevant data from existing IT systems such as ERP, CRM or PDM to provide an overview of the company's own machines. The manufacturer in Remberg can then analyze which customers need spare parts, maintenance, overhauls or digital services for their machines.

This gives the sales department the opportunity to place its products and services with the customer at an early stage. Manufacturers can also give their customers one-click access to important information such as documentation, spare parts lists or service cases relating to their machines in their own design, thereby promoting collaboration with service providers and operators.

Depending on the level of digitalization of the installed machines, orders for spare parts, for example, can also be triggered automatically with the help of an IoT data connection.

"Our aim is to make machine service processes more efficient so that in future, even in an industrial environment, you can find what you need with just a few clicks and then order it directly at the best conditions," explains David Hahn, Managing Director of Remberg. Seven machine manufacturers already rely on Remberg. The investment will primarily be used to further expand the areas of sales and development.
