Mendix/AWS
Partnership becomes even closer
Mendix and Amazon Web Services are expanding their strategic relationship to include intelligent automation solutions. To simplify the procurement and deployment process for customers, three Mendix offerings are now available on the AWS Marketplace.
Mendix, a Siemens subsidiary specializing in enterprise application development, announces an expanded go-to-market relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The announcement builds on the existing partnership between AWS and Mendix, as well as the recently announced digital transformation collaboration between Siemens Digital Industries Software and AWS. To simplify the procurement and deployment process for customers, three Mendix offerings are now available on the AWS Marketplace: the Mendix Low-Code Platform, Intelligent Automation for Banking, and Intelligent Automation for Insurance. Additional vertical solutions for various industries will follow.
Templates for low-code applications
The solutions are based on low-code application templates that enable developers and subject matter experts to create consistent, customized applications for industry-specific use cases. Examples include customer onboarding in banking, loan/mortgage origination and portfolio management, as well as quote and purchase processing, underwriting and claims management in insurance.
The solutions aim to combine these application templates with intelligent services from AWS, such as Amazon Comprehend (to understand unstructured text), Amazon Transcribe and Amazon Polly (to convert speech to text and vice versa), Amazon Lex (to set up conversational interfaces) and Amazon Rekognition (to identify objects, people, text and activities in images and videos). Customers can also embed these AWS services into their own applications.
Mendix and AWS have been working together since 2015, and the Mendix Cloud has been running on AWS since 2016. Mendix was acquired by Siemens in 2018 and this go-to-market relationship extends the strategic cooperation agreement between Siemens and AWS announced in November 2021.
