Logimat 2024
Intelligent software systems for intralogistics
System developers are increasingly focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence. At Logimat 2024, they will be showcasing their new developments to demonstrate how AI algorithms can be used to further automate many processes and increase their efficiency.
The complex processes of modern (intra-)logistics are characterized by intelligent software systems. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) and merchandise management systems (MMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), transport management systems (TMS) and customer relationship management (CRM) software ensure smooth processes in the supply chains. The logistics industry generates enormous amounts of data. With AI algorithms, this data can be analyzed in depth at a rapid pace.
At Logimat 2024, new systems, applications and automation options for intelligent data management will be presented by exhibitors from the software industry under the trade fair motto "SHAPING CHANGE TOGETHER - Sustainability - AI - Ergonomics".
AI algorithms in the Warehouse Execution System
For example, AI algorithms in a warehouse execution system are to ensure internal networking. A digital twin maps all warehouse movements in real time. Forklifts not only transport goods, but also transmit their data. The integration of AI technologies serves to dynamically distribute transport orders and optimize the overall performance of the warehouse. The warehouse execution system uses digital twin algorithms and real-time location to coordinate the control of manual and autonomous vehicles in order to increase efficiency and flexibility.
"In Hall 8 at the Stuttgart exhibition grounds, the majority of software companies will be showcasing the wide range of functional applications that they offer their customers with their recently developed AI-based software applications," says Exhibition Director Michael Ruchty from Munich-based trade fair organizer Euroexpo Messe- und Kongress-GmbH.
Other new presentations will focus on AI-based supply chain engineering, for example with real-time digitization, including through digital twins. Trade visitors can also get to know a cloud-based tool designed to increase transparency in the supply chain and improve management, collaboration and communication in the supply chain.
Platform for supply chain planning with AI and ML functions
The Predictive Planning Suite is aimed at applications in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and serves as a platform for supply chain planning with AI and machine learning-based functionalities in the areas of inventory management, demand and production planning, forecasting and sales and operations planning (S&OP). With the enhancements, the suite is designed to optimize supply chain planning and control and provide accurate forecasts of future inventory and material requirements.
"The latest solutions presented by the software developers at this year's Logimat illustrate the wide range of ways in which IT systems are shaping warehouse, transport and supply chain management," summarizes trade fair director Ruchty. "On the other hand, the latest new developments demonstrate how quickly and effectively software companies are integrating technological developments such as AI into their products in order to provide users with further optimization options for better performance through in-depth analyses and real-time reactions."
LogiMAT, International Trade Fair for Intralogistics Solutions and Process Management, will take place from March 19 - 21, 2024 at the Stuttgart Exhibition Center at Stuttgart Airport. Further information at http://www.logimat.de.
