In addition to the official opening of the Watson IoT headquarters in Munich, IBM also gave the go-ahead for the establishment of a new, global innovation ecosystem for artificial intelligence and IoT. BMW is one of the members of this ecosystem: the company will relocate some of its research and development activities to one of the newly created IBM Industry Collaboratories - a combination of the words "collaboration" and "laboratories" - in the IoT Center. In total, around 1,000 IoT experts from IBM will work together with partners and customers in Munich. As of now, this also includes the European technology initiative EEBus, BNP Paribas, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra and Avnet.
