Developing autonomous systems
MathWorks introduces the Sensor Fusion and Tracking Toolbox, available with the 2018b release. The new toolbox provides engineers with algorithms and tools to determine and maintain position, orientation and situational awareness.
These functions are relevant for autonomous systems. The toolbox provides a flexible and reusable environment that can be shared by multiple developers. It provides functions for simulating sensor detections, performing localization, testing sensor fusion architectures and evaluating tracking results. Engineers can use the toolbox to explore multiple designs and perform 'what-if' analyses without writing custom libraries. They can also simulate fusion architectures using software that they can make available to teams and organizations. The Sensor Fusion and Tracking Toolbox includes algorithms and tools for designing, simulating and analyzing systems that fuse data from multiple sensors to maintain position, orientation and situational awareness. It also provides reference examples as a starting point for surveillance, navigation and autonomous systems, as well as scenario and trajectory generation tools.
