Inka Krischke,

Calculation of development projects

According to the provider, the 'classmate Costpilot' software closes a digitization gap for machine and plant manufacturers: cost information from various digital sources is brought together in a clear structure and continuously updated.

Continuous project costing automatically obtains the necessary information from various cost sources and displays it in a flexible structure based on bills of materials. The quality of the cost information can be increased from estimated values, empirical values and anticipated manufacturing costs to quotation and contract prices. Once imported from ERP systems, values can be updated automatically. This improves the accuracy of the calculation as the development project progresses. The transparent presentation opens up numerous intervention options and enables those involved to limit costs at an early stage. If target costs are defined, deviations and their causes can be identified in good time. A transparent presentation shows target and actual costs, deviations and effects on the overall costs. Different variants of part structures, costing scenarios with different premises or secured project statuses are easily compared, according to the provider Simus Systems. The causes of cost increases can also be documented. The browser-based user interface offers expandable description fields, a 3D viewer and access to attachments and additional files. It can be accessed from any computer or mobile device with a browser, regardless of location.
