Upgrade to an IoT device

A simple upgrade turns the PFC100 and PFC200 controllers from Wago into IoT controllers that send data from the field level to the cloud. This data can then be aggregated and used for analysis.

All it takes is a few simple steps to turn the controller into an IoT device - by extending the firmware and programming the IEC application with the corresponding library. Status information such as run/stop, connection statuses, device information and variables defined in the IEC program can then be sent to a cloud and visualized, for example. Whether the controller sends the data to Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services or IBM Bluemix is up to the user. Connections to third-party solutions will also be possible in future thanks to the standardized MQTT protocol. The data is transmitted in JSON format (JavaScript Object Notation) and the connection is TLS-encrypted. Users can update the software using web-based management (WBM) in the web browser. Libraries for Codesys 2.3 and e!Cockpit are also included in the scope of delivery. The cloud connection data is also configured using WBM. The variables that are to be transferred to the cloud can be defined in the IEC program.
