Hanover Fair
Sweden becomes partner country 2019
After Mexico, Sweden will be the partner country at next year's Hannover Messe. This was announced by the trade fair organizer - Deutsche Messe - on April 25 in Hanover.
"It is a great honor for us to be the partner country next year," said Peter Eriksson, Minister of Housing and Digital Development, during the signing ceremony. "This will result in many opportunities for cooperation and exchange between Sweden and international companies, organizations and research institutions, as well as at a political level. Collaboration, innovation and digital transformation are at the heart of Sweden's presence in 2019, and we want to actively approach visitors to the trade fair and offer them a platform for networking, trade and investment," continued Eriksson.
"The Swedish government and industry are consistently driving forward the digital transformation," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe AG. "This fits perfectly with Hannover Messe. As a global hotspot for Industry 4.0, Hannover is the perfect stage for presenting strategies for smart industry, offering innovative solutions for the global market and expanding networks."
There is already a close connection between Sweden and Germany. This was further intensified at the beginning of 2017 with the signing of a bilateral innovation partnership. Both countries have agreed to cooperate at a political, economic and institutional level. This relates to the areas of mobility, the digital development of industry, joint research activities, test projects as part of Industry 4.0 and the promotion of digitalization and automation in small and medium-sized enterprises.
Sweden's economy is growing steadily. In an international comparison, Sweden ranks highly in all aspects - from the business climate to start-ups. According to Deutsche Messe, Sweden's innovative capacity and quality of life also make Swedish companies valued trading and investment partners. With a good business sense, a high level of education and support from the government, Sweden has become home to a dynamic start-up culture as well as some world-famous brands. These include Volvo, Electrolux, Ericsson, Ikea and H&M.
