Codesys Group
Stable sales in 2020 and plans for 2021
In the past 2020 financial year, the Codesys Group generated a slight increase in sales of 3.2% to just under EUR 25 million with its IEC 61131-3 automation software Codesys, despite the pandemic and the sometimes tense overall economic situation.
The company sees this development as all the more pleasing because, as a contribution to social distancing during the pandemic, it made its Industry 4.0 platform "Codesys Automation Server" available free of charge until the end of 2020 and at the same time integrated additional functions for remote maintenance and diagnostics.
The "Codesys Store" made an important contribution to the positive development with a 20% increase in sales. The online platform offers a wide range of Codesys-related add-ons, including numerous third-party products. The launch of the Store US offshoot, which was launched in mid-2020 and is managed by the North American subsidiary, Codesys Corporation, further boosted the positive sales trend. The Soft PLC systems were particularly in demand for industrial PCs based on Linux, but also for typical automation devices and the Raspberry Pi.
A gradual expansion of the product range is planned for 2021. The plan includes new Codesys functions and products such as the expansion of OPC UA support or the integrated connection to the Git version management system. With an expanded range of services, the Codesys Group now provides targeted support in the implementation of automation solutions.
