Bachmann Electronic
Stable sales at a good level
With a turnover of EUR 68.3 million, the Austrian automation technology manufacturer Bachmann Electronic only just missed its previous record turnover of EUR 70.4 million in 2016.
Bachmann's electronic controllers, 100% of which come from the plant in Austria, are sold worldwide, with sales developing particularly well in Europe and India in the past financial year. "I also have positive business expectations in the medium and long term. The demand for automation solutions is increasing due to the ongoing digitalization of industry and the global conversion of the energy supply to renewable sources," says Managing Director Bernhard Zangerl. Even selective political changes such as the election of President Trump in the USA will not change this.
The greatest demand in 2016 was for modular controllers for grid measurement and grid protection. They are used to connect power generation plants to the grid or to connect them to smart grids. This enables producers to meet the increasing demands that grid operators are placing on the stability of electricity grids. According to Zangerl, the market also responded positively to the cloud-based "atvise Portal" software for storing and analyzing process data.
Last but not least, there was an increase in the number of employees, which rose by 5% to 459 worldwide.
