New trade fair for automation technology in Dubai
Messe Frankfurt is expanding its portfolio in the Gulf region with 'SPS Automation Middle East 2018'. The trade fair for industrial and building automation is being organized in cooperation with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and will take place in Dubai.
The first 'SPS Automation Middle East' will take place from 18 to 19 September 2018 at the Festival Arena in Dubai and is being organized by Messe Frankfurt 's subsidiary there. The event brings together all aspects and application areas of automation under one roof. Central topics of the conference program will be IoT (Internet of Things), Industry 4.0 and their impact on building and industrial automation in Middle Eastern countries. Well-known companies in the industry such as Beckhoff Automation, Bosch Rexroth, Sick and Pilz have already confirmed their participation.
"The decision to bring SPS Automation to Dubai comes at the right time," says Wolfgang Marzin, Chairman of the Board of Management and CEO of Messe Frankfurt. According to him, the United Arab Emirates are planning to invest 75 billion US dollars in the manufacturing sector by 2025. Specifically, automation is to be driven forward in various industries such as packaging technology, construction, oil and gas, food and beverages, paints and coatings, nanosensor technology and medical technology. Marzin continues: "The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia will play an important role for the automation and manufacturing industry in the future. Messe Frankfurt therefore sees it as a logical continuation of its corporate strategy to meet the requirements of the market and offer its customers in the Middle East a trading platform."
