Microcontrollers support dual-loop architectures

The 'iPOS4803' microcontrollers from Technosoft also support the CAN, USB and RS232 interfaces using a special CPU that was actually developed for motion control applications with Ethercat communication.

With rated currents of 2 ARMS (P version) and 3.5 ARMS (PE, S and SY versions) at 48 V, the devices can control brushless rotary and linear motors, plunger coils and brushed DC motors up to 240 W. The iPOS4803SY multi-axis system from Technosoft comprises three to four microdrives. All iPOS4803 microdrives support dual-loop architectures for backlash compensation with two incremental or absolute encoders: SSI, BiSS-C, EnDAT2.2, A-format (Nikon, Sanyo Denki), T-format (Tamagawa, Panasonic). With Ethercat cycles and position control loops at 100 s and PWM frequencies up to 100 kHz, the microdrives are suitable for applications where movements with extreme dynamics are required (robots, semiconductors).
