Maintenance 4.0: The human factor in the IoT

The session will address the topic of improving machine availability through predictive maintenance and augmented reality. In addition to other use cases, Industry 4.0 or the IIoT offers a holistic manufacturing approach - for example via predictive maintenance.

Lukas Baur is Vice President IoT at Teamviewer.

Although this brings significant benefits to machine uptime, common workflows performed by frontline workers and remote technicians are still generally performed manually and need to be optimized.

At a time when companies are looking at optimizing processes and reducing unplanned downtime to minimize on-site maintenance costs, human-dependent maintenance can be a challenge. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of maintenance depends on the quality of skills, which in turn is essential in human-machine collaboration.

It will be shown how IoT remote access, predictive maintenance and AR can be combined to identify and solve software and hardware problems remotely by leveraging the use of smart glasses to visualize concrete instructions and information. It will also illustrate how a large international company has achieved both a 25% improvement in process speed and a zero defect rate.

Lukas Baur, Vice President IoT at Teamviewer, welcomes you to the presentation "Maintenance 4.0: The human factor in IoT".

Date: November 24, SPS Connect - 11:40 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
