Noax has developed an RFID reader especially for harsh environments that supports numerous RFID standards. The device complies with the IP65 protection standard and is therefore protected against dust and water jets. The RFID readers can be mounted either as a stand-alone device, such as on a processing table, or directly on a Noax industrial PC or logistics terminal. This type of installation is intended to enable an ergonomic workplace design, as operation can take place directly at the workstation or on the forklift. It is also possible to retrofit the RFID readers to existing industrial PCs. As a multi-format reader, it is compatible with numerous RFID standards, such as Hitag, Mifare and Legic. However, other standards such as Near Field Communication (NFC) and ISO 14443 are also supported. According to the manufacturer, use is also made easier for administrators as the RIFD reader can be connected via a COM port or alternatively via a USB interface.
