Siemens - 3rd quarter 2018Incoming orders grow, sales stagnate
In the third quarter of 2018, Siemens recorded double-digit growth in order intake, while sales stagnated. Particularly good business in the 'Digital Factory' division offset losses in the 'Power and Gas' division.

Order growth in the Building Technologies division was largely determined by the Europe, CIS, Africa, Near and Middle East region - with a number of multi-year service contracts in Germany as well as the Asia and Australia regions. The growth in sales revenue - particularly in the USA - was largely offset by negative currency translation effects. According to Siemens, earnings and profit margin increased due to productivity improvements.
