Despite the economic slowdown, the number of employees in the German electrical and electronics industry has remained almost stable. It currently stands at 888,000 employees. In addition to the domestic workforce, there are 766,000 employees abroad. 60% of employees - both academic and non-academic - are STEM professionals. The training rate in companies is 5%. 93,000 employees work in research and development alone, which is more than one in ten.
