According to Automata, the scalable performance of the IIoT controller (ARM multicore or Intel Atom/Celeron CPU) and the extensive communication interfaces cover a wide range of applications - from edge controllers for IIoT applications with a focus on communication to controllers for classic PLC and motion applications to the hardware basis for sophisticated visualizations. Ethernet interfaces, WiFi and 3G/5G modem create fast connections to the cloud or local networks, enabling easy integration into smart factory structures. The OPC UA server serves as a standardized communication protocol. I/Os and drives can be connected via Ethercat. In addition, the IIoT controller offers an expansion slot for local I/Os or additional fieldbus interfaces.
