Update for industrial Raspberry Pi from Janz Tec
JanzTec has updated its industrial Raspberry Pi system by adding a Raspi 3 board. The hardware and software are specially designed for use as a CAN gateway.
Now with Raspberry Pi 3 module: The emPC-A/RPI3 from Janz Tec.
© Janz TecContrary to the fears of all doubters, it has turned out that the Raspberry Pi is perfectly capable of meeting industrial requirements. Even if it is not suitable for the really critical areas in machines, there are enough fields of application in the peripheral areas of automation in which the industrial Raspberry Pi 2 systems from Janz Tec have proven themselves.
This is why Janz Tec is now introducing the emPC-A/RPI3 with the Raspberry Pi 3 module. The new system adopts the original design and is the successor to the well-known and proven emPC-A/RPI2. The system looks almost identical to its predecessor. Inside, however, the use of the new CPU module with the four Cortex-A53 cores results in some interesting new features, especially for the automation sector. Not only has the system become much more powerful, it also has two interfaces for mobile communication, Bluetooth and WLAN, which can be used to create ad hoc networks for mobile machines. Raspbian Jessie Light is still used as the operating system. CODESYS and various CAN tools are also available in the new version, as with its predecessor.
