Starter kit for SMARC module family
Avnet Embedded has launched a comprehensive starter kit for the scalable SMARC 2.1.1 module family 'MSC SM2S-IMX93', which integrates the i.MX 93 application processor from NXP Semiconductors.
The SMARC 2.1.1 Starter Kit 'MSC SM2-SK-IMX9-EP1' from Avnet Embedded contains all the components that customers need to evaluate the modules and quickly start their application development. The starter kit includes the Mini-ITX SMARC carrier board MSC SM2-MB-EP1, the appropriate cooling solution, an SD card for saving the Linux installation, a USB SD card adapter and a power supply unit with the necessary cables. The desired module variant can be flexibly selected from the standard MSC SM2S-IMX93 family. In addition, the starter kit can be supplied with matching LVDS display kits, which differ in terms of screen size and resolution.
The SMARC 2.1.1 module family is equipped with i.MX 93 application processors from NXP Semiconductors, which integrate one or two Arm Cortex-A55 cores with up to 1.7 GHz, an Arm Cortex-M33 real-time processor with 250 MHz and a 2D graphics processor unit. The highlight of the processors is the integrated Arm Ethos-U65 microNPU, which enables the development of machine learning (ML) applications.
