This question is increasingly preoccupying the industry. For automation specialists and machine builders - the OT experts par excellence - the situation is made even more difficult by the fact that classic IT technologies are being introduced into the industry with the cloud, edge and artificial intelligence. This means that two worlds are colliding. Attempts to discuss and solve problems together often lead to misunderstandings and "talking past each other".
The Edge & Cloud Control Forum on October 20 and 21, 2021 aims to change this.

We welcome Dr. Gunther Kegel, CEO of Pepperl + Fuchs and President of ZVEI, as keynote speaker. He will open the conference with his presentation "Sensor-2-Cloud - Relevance and Importance for Automation and new data driven business models". In it, he will address the explosive nature of the topic for automation and mechanical engineering.
Afterwards, renowned experts will discuss the following questions in their presentations:
- What do the GAIA-X efforts mean for the manufacturing industry?
- What can be derived from the GAIA-X network for Automotive Catena-X for the capital goods industry?
- Which international edge alliances and consortia exist and how do users benefit from them?
