Fanless embedded system for medium-duty tasks

ICP Germany uses the Alder Lake N generation processors from Intel in the embedded system 'MB2-10ANS'.

As with the predecessor 'MB1', two variants with energy-efficient processors are available: Variant 1 with the N97, a four-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 3.6 GHz, and variant 2 with Intel Core i3-N305 with eight cores and a maximum clock speed of 3.8 GHz. The 'MB2' offers a DDR5 SO-DIMM socket, which can be equipped with a maximum of 16 Gbyte. In terms of size, the system measures 171 mm x 133 mm x 57 mm. It offers space for a 2.5 inch SSD, an M.2 2280, an M.2 2242/3042/3052 and an M.2 2230 expansion card as well as various interfaces such as display port, HDMI, two 2.5GbE ports, a 10 pin terminal connector with 8 bit GPIO, an RS232/422/485 interface, remote power on/off, three USB3.2 and one USB Type-C and line-out port. In addition, variant 1 with N97 CPU has two USB2.0 and one RS232 interface and variant 2 with i3-N305 CPU has three RS232 interfaces. With a voltage input of 8 to 26 V(DC) and an operating temperature suitability of -20 to +60 °C, the embedded system is suitable for industrial use. The compact embedded system from ICP Germany is also prepared for use as an inference system. It can be extended with a Hailo-8TM AI IC. This allows AI data to be technically evaluated and decisions to be made directly at the edge. On request, ICP Deutschland can supply the MB2 as a ready-to-use system with suitable industrial memory modules and solid state disks as well as pre-equipped with a Hailo-8TM expansion card.
