Change of name and new CEO
Emerson Network Power becomes Vertiv
Following the sale of Emerson Network Power to the investment firm Platinum Equity for 4 billion dollars, Rob Johnson becomes CEO of the company, which has been renamed Vertiv. However, Emerson retains a minority stake.
Formerly Emerson Network Power, Vertiv is a global provider of mission-critical infrastructure technologies for key applications in data centers, communications networks and commercial and industrial environments.
Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Vertiv currently employs more than 20,000 people and has over 25 manufacturing and assembly locations around the world.
Rob Johnson was most recently an Operating Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield&Byers, prior to which he spent ten years at American Power Conversion (APC). Johnson was President and CEO of UPS specialist APC when the company was sold to French company Schneider Electric for 6.1 billion dollars in 2007.
