Advantech and Qualcomm agree on cooperation

Advantech has announced a strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies. The goal is to drive the continued innovation and expansion of edge AI solutions for the IoT.

According to the partner companies Advantech and Qualcom, the collaboration creates an open and diverse edge AI ecosystem that paves the way for solutions for AIoT applications. The combination of AI expertise, high-performance computing and industry-leading connectivity will drive many innovations in the field of industrial computing, according to the press release.

With its Product Longevity Program for certain SoCs, AI and connectivity systems, Qualcomm sees advantages in automation technology, transportation, medical technology and the rapidly developing robotics and energy technology markets. The collaboration with Advantech strengthens the technical expertise and commitment of both companies. Advantech has set itself the goal of developing a series of Edge AI platforms and a special Edge AI SDK for Edge AI applications. The collaboration will enable Advantech to integrate Qualcomm's solutions across its entire platform portfolio, including AI-on-Modules, AI Function Boards and AI edge systems.
