Phoenix Contact / Deutsche Messe
Qualification for Industry 4.0 as a goal
Phoenix Contact and the Deutsche Messe Technology Academy have agreed on an active cooperation for qualification in the field of Industry 4.0: In 'Industry Academies', they want to impart specialist knowledge for digitization in an application-oriented manner in several countries.
Thomas Rilke, Managing Director of the Technology Academy, emphasized at the signing of the agreement that the qualification of skilled workers is an important criterion for the further development or establishment of new industrial locations: "Only those who are willing to share their knowledge will have sustainable economic success. For example, digitalization technologies can only be used successfully if you know their potential," says Thomas Rilke. This is why the Industry Academies are designed to provide young specialists and industry experts with application-oriented training.
Roland Bent, CTO of Phoenix Contact, sees the collaboration with the Technology Academy as an important step for technology transfer: "Phoenix Contact will contribute its expertise and automation solutions to the establishment of the Industry Academies worldwide in order to impart the latest technical knowledge. There are many areas in which replacing existing technology with modern solutions can significantly reduce energy consumption and at the same time make production more efficient," says Roland Bent.
The plan is to establish 'Industry Academies' in China, Singapore, South Africa and Turkey. The aim is to impart knowledge about modern technology locally and thus disseminate future technologies in the regions.
The Technology Academy is a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG, which is operated jointly with the Volkswagen Group Academy. In its worldwide training centers, the Technology Academy focuses on technologies and services that are changing industrial production. Current topics include robotics and automation, Industry 4.0, 3D printing and virtual and augmented reality.
