The acquisition of Telit Cinterion's Cellular Automotive Module Unit enables Kontron to expand its product portfolio, increase its internal development capacities and meet the growing demand for modern 4G/5G solutions. By integrating Telit Cinterion's Cellular Automotive solutions into its own IoT software technology portfolio, Kontron is further developing its expertise. Hannes Niederhauser, CEO Kontron AG: "Today's acquisition is another milestone on Kontron's path to becoming a leading global provider of IoT solutions. Telit Cinterion's products seamlessly complement our own 5G and real-time technologies for the automotive industry."
The unit's assets generated revenues of just over €100 million in 2022 and will be integrated into Kontron Europe GmbH, a subsidiary of Kontron AG. The purchase price amounts to € 24.5 million. Closing is expected to take place by August.
