Industrial router
Enhanced security features
A firmware update is now available for the modular industrial routers in the MRX series from Insys icom. With version 2.1 of the 'icom OS', the device software has already received a software wizard that helps users to set up ...
... additional Internet access, for example for redundant operation, is supported. The latest firmware update offers new security features and expands the device monitoring options. In addition, the number of pulse combinations recognized by each of the two digital inputs available in the basic configuration has been increased to 99. This allows a greater variance of events to be defined, to which the routers can react with configurable actions. If required, the number of digital inputs on the routers can also be increased using the "MRXcard SI" or "PL" plug-in cards. SNMP communication has also been optimized in the 2.2 update: Whereas the status of network devices connected to the routers was previously only monitored using cyclically transmitted SNMP traps, the routers can now use SNMP to specifically query the status of individual devices. As far as IT security features are concerned, a plausibility check now checks the network filters for compliance with router functions and services. MAC filters have also been added.
