Habia
Cooperation with HEW-Kabel
Habia, a supplier of high-performance cables, cable harnesses and services, has expanded its product range and market coverage by merging with HEW-Kabel.
HEW-Kabel and Habia Cable, which were previously active in different application areas, have joined forces to form an alliance. While HEW-Kabel focused on industrial applications such as the automotive industry, medical technology and robotics, Habia Cable mainly served customers in the defense, marine, nuclear energy and telecommunications sectors. As a result of the merger, customers will now benefit from a broader range of connectivity solutions for more applications, as well as enhanced capabilities and expertise.
"By working in partnership with our customers to develop connectivity solutions for new and demanding applications, Habia is always at the cutting edge of technology," says Carl Modigh, CEO of Habia. "When we are involved early in the design process for a particular connectivity problem, we can help the customer find the best solution in terms of performance and cost," Modigh continues. Habia has its own wire drawing, galvanizing and stranding facilities as well as equipment for silicone mixing, polymer extrusion, cross-linking and stranding.
Cable portfolio for industrial robotics
In the field of industrial robotics, Habia offers durable cabling solutions for all common types of robots such as articulated robots, collaborative robots (cobots), painting robots and welding robots. The extensive portfolio includes data, control, servo and hybrid cables that have been specially developed for the various applications in industrial robotics.
The prospects for 2024 and beyond
Rapid technological change is leading to new connectivity challenges with higher data transfer rates, miniaturization, higher energy throughput and stricter safety or sustainability requirements. Carl Modigh comments: "When our customers are faced with a new connectivity challenge, we want to be their partner and deliver the solution. That's why we will continue to expand our expertise in technical sales, engineering and production technology in 2024 to meet our customers' new requirements."
