Axel Barnekow Widmark becomes CEO

Habia, a global supplier of customized high-performance cables, announces changes in the company's management: On April 1, Axel Barnekow Widmark took over the position of Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Carl Modigh, who will remain with the company as a member of the Advisory Board.

Axel Barnekow Widmark brings international leadership experience from industry, consulting and technology. Before joining Habia, he was Executive Vice President and Head of Service & Installation at NKT. In this position, he managed central operational and strategic areas of responsibility from 2020 to 2026 and significantly developed the service and installation business. Prior to this, Axel Barnekow Widmark worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, advising industrial companies on strategic issues, transformations and organizational development. A formative period of his career was his almost 13 years at ABB, where he held various international management positions. These included the positions of Vice President and General Manager of the Robotics Supply Unit in the USA and Vice President and General Manager Grid Automation Systems in Sweden. In these roles, he led global teams and was responsible for complex business areas in the fields of robotics, automation and energy infrastructure.

After 25 years in various management positions, Carl Modigh will remain closely associated with Habia. As a member of the Advisory Board, he will continue to contribute his many years of experience and expertise to the company.

Mattias Klockars started as Vice President Research & Development in March and has since been responsible for the further development of innovation and technology activities. Before joining Habia, Klockars was Director of Strategic Research at Alleima, where he headed up the strategic research department. His focus was on customer and technology-oriented research and product development. He was also responsible for strategy development, R&D investments and operational excellence initiatives. He also has experience in technical marketing. Previously, Klockars held various leadership positions at Sandvik, including Director Strategic Research, senior positions in R&D Processes and Site Manager of the Sandviken R&D site. His focus there was on new business development, strategic research and the further development of R&D structures and processes.
