Digital Summit 2017
10-point plan for Industry 4.0 presented
In mid-June 2017, the Industry 4.0 platform presented its recommendations for action on how to implement and strengthen Germany's leading role in the field of Industry 4.0. The 10-point plan is available for download from Computer&AUTOMATION.
According to Plattform Industrie 4.0, the use of Industry 4.0 is already creating real added value in Germany, citing figures from a Bitkom study from April 2017: according to this study, sales of Industry 4.0 solutions will increase by 21% to EUR 5.9 billion in the current year. For 2018, the overall market for Industry 4.0 is expected to grow by over 22% to EUR 7.2 billion. To further expand Germany's leading position, the Industry 4.0 platform has developed a 10-point plan with recommendations for the next steps. Federal Minister of Economics Brigitte Zypries, Deutsche Telekom CEO Reinhard Clemens and SAP CEO Bernd Leukert were among those who presented the plan at the recent Digital Summit.
Computer&AUTOMATION has made the 10-point plan for Industry 4.0 available for download in the whitepaper section.
The Industry 4.0 platform is the central network in Germany for advancing the digital transformation in production. Over 300 stakeholders from 159 organizations are actively involved in the platform.
