embedded world 2018
'Safe for the future' panel discussion focuses on IoT
The Internet of Things will not be successful without secure systems. High-ranking experts will be discussing what needs to be done at embedded world. Register now!
The panel discussion "Safe for the Future" is taking place for the third time at embedded world. Although the title might suggest "safety", the discussion will primarily focus on "security". The focus will be on securing embedded computers and communication channels - a key requirement for protecting networked embedded systems in the Internet of Things. This time, the focus will be on questions such as what measures can be used to protect critical infrastructures, what critical infrastructures and applications are, and what measures can be adopted for supposedly non-critical applications.
The following have already confirmed their attendance:
Thomas Rosteck, Division President Chip Card & Security, Infineon. Rosteck has been Head of the Embedded Security Solutions division at Infineon Technologies AG since 2016.
Prof. Dr. Michael Waidner, Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology (SIT) in Darmstadt and Birlinghoven.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Axel Sikora, member of the Steering Board of the embedded world Conference and Scientific Director of the Institute for Reliable Embedded Systems and Communication Electronics at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, will provide the close thematic connection to the embedded industry, the Internet of Things and the visionary framework, and not just with his moderation.

safety & security Area 2018
The topics of safety and security not only play a major role in the panel discussion and at the congress, but are also present in the middle of the trade fair. In the special 'safety & security area' in Hall 4A, visitors can find out how to protect embedded systems from attacks, design attack-proof hardware and software for embedded solutions and monitor attack paths in the embedded sector.
