News on the Vision 2018

CVB 2018 offers a range of new functions for the 'CVB Image Manager' and the 'CVB Foundation Package' of the hardware-independent image processing software 'Common Vision Blox' from Stemmer Imaging. The 'CVB 2018 Image Manager' has central 3D functionality for editing point clouds and existing calibrations as well as for displaying 3D data. A new tool is 'CVB Match 3D', which supports both Windows and Linux. It can be used to compare the point clouds of a test part with those of a perfect sample part and detect any deviations between the two 3D images. The tool is useful, for example, for 3D systems for positioning and for calculating feature differences and dimensional deviations in quality control. The functions of the 'CVB 2018 Image Manager' have also been extended for Linux (on Intel and ARM platforms). The 'CVB Foundation Package' is an entry-level package for developers who need basic image processing tools and includes the complete functionality of the 'CVB 2018 Image Manager', supplemented by various basic image processing algorithms and optimized pre-processing functions. Two tools with Windows/Linux support have been added to this tool: 'Metric' allows the calibration of 3D point clouds, and the 'Foundation Barcode Reader ZXBarcode' can be used to read 1D and 2D barcodes and, in particular, QR codes.
