06 - Faulhaber: High accuracy thanks to the latest chip technology
With a diameter of 8 mm, the 'IEP3' incremental encoder from Faulhaber delivers a resolution of up to 10,000 pulses per revolution; in the standard version, the resolution is freely programmable from 1 to 4096 I/rev. Thanks to accuracy compensation, the chip technology used also ensures a high positioning accuracy of typ. 0.3 °m and a high repeat accuracy of typ. 0.05 °m. The operating voltage can be either 5 or 3.3 V, making the on-axis encoder with 2-pole encoder magnet also suitable for battery or rechargeable battery-powered applications. The product can be combined with DC motors from the 0816SR, 1016SR and 1024SR series as well as with stepper motors from the AM0820, AM1020 and AM1524 series. Options such as PVC or FEP cables, connector options and various cable lengths are available for the electrical connection of the encoder.
