In order to make the handling of operating panels and control units more convenient and to make the overall system look like a single unit, enclosure manufacturer Rolec has developed a new angled swivel joint for the 'Profiplus' support arm system. The joint, which can swivel through 300°, was initially tailored to the requirements of Siemens and the 'Simatic HMI Pro' panel. It is also compatible with all standard versions that use round tube adapters with a diameter of 48 mm, regardless of the manufacturer. The angled swivel joint allows the 'Simatic' operating units to be aligned to the machine or workpiece as required. If the operating unit is to be locked at a specific angle, the operator only needs to move the easy-to-grip clamping lever. In contrast to solutions that are positioned behind the operating housing, this lever always remains in the operator's field of vision and is easily accessible.
