With the MVK Metal Safety fieldbus module, Murrelektronik offers a solution for safety-related installations with which SIL 3 (in accordance with IEC 61508 and IEC 62061) and PLe (in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1) can be achieved. In automation solutions with the fieldbus module, affected outputs are deactivated by the control system using targeted signals. The fieldbus module is available as a pure input module and as a mixed module with safe inputs and outputs. Two inputs are available per M12 input socket, which can be used for two single-channel or one dual-channel safety circuit, depending on the application. For dual-channel applications, the channels can be parameterized to be equivalent or antivalent to each other. The discrepancy time can also be set. The module works with Profinet/Profisafe. All channels are monitored independently of each other for errors such as overload, sensor short circuit or cable break. Errors are indicated precisely by LEDs at the affected slots and reported to the controller. This ensures that the exact channel is switched off and that neighboring, non-faulty channels are not negatively affected. The module inputs are also cross-connection-proof. Faults caused by cable crushes or earth faults are detected immediately and reported for each channel.
