Safety temperature limiter from GHM

A safety temperature limiter (STL) is used wherever thermal processes need to be monitored and the system needs to be switched to a safe operating state in the event of a fault. Martens now offers an STB in an installation housing for direct mounting in the control panel or switch cabinet door. As the Safety-TL4896 is not mounted on the top-hat rail but in the control panel, it serves directly as an indicator. This eliminates the cost of the additional 'indicator' module. The integrated analog output for the temperature signal also eliminates the need for an additional measuring chain for the measuring signal to the PLC or SCADA world. As the reset function is carried out directly on the device, there is no need for an additional control element in the control panel. The safety temperature limiter is configured directly using the buttons on the front in conjunction with the graphic display, without additional programming software. The STB meets all the requirements of DIN EN14597 and is certified to SIL 2. If the permissible temperature limit is reached or if a fault occurs on the monitoring device within the permissible temperature range, it switches off immediately and without delay. The alarm contact is triggered, the LED alarm on the front and the backlight of the display light up and the cause of the fault is shown in plain text on the display. A so-called pre-alarm triggers a (pre-)alarm even before the limit value is reached.
