With the Ixxat Inpact M.2, HMS is expanding its "Inpact" card series for PCIe and PCIe Mini with a compact card in M.2-2260 format (Key B-M). It can be used to implement slave interfaces for Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Ethercat, Modbus-TCP, Powerlink and Profibus in compact or mobile devices for service, configuration, data analysis or process data visualization in a space-saving manner. The card is also suitable for embedded computer-based control systems, as these can be integrated directly into higher-level networks. An integral part of the "Inpact" card series is a comprehensive driver package for Windows, Linux, Intime and QNX, which - irrespective of the card type and protocol used - enables rapid development of customer-specific applications. Based on a standardized programming interface, it is possible to switch between protocols and card types without changing the customer software. The connection to the fieldbus or Industrial Ethernet network is made via special bus interfaces, which are connected to the "Ixxat Inpact M.2" via a cable. In addition to the cards with pre-installed network protocol, the Industrial Ethernet version of the card is also available in a multi-protocol version (CE version). In this case, the desired Industrial Ethernet protocol can be selected by the user and loaded onto the card. The multi-network capability of the card is based on the "Anybus-CompactCom" technology from HMS.
