Zebra Technologies buys Matrox Imaging
Matrox has entered into a definitive share purchase agreement with Zebra Technologies under which Zebra intends to acquire the Matrox Imaging business (Matrox Electronic Systems Ltd.).
The Matrox Video Division (Matrox Graphics) is not part of the transaction and will remain under the ownership of Matrox President and co-founder Lorne Trottier. The headquarters of the Matrox Video Division and the Matrox Imaging Division will remain in Montreal.
"With its complementary portfolio in machine vision and stationary industrial scanning, Zebra Technologies is an excellent home for Matrox Imaging," explains Lorne Trottier.
Zebra Technologies is a global company in the field of automatic identification and data capture. "Matrox Imaging brings deep expertise that will strengthen our recently formed Machine Vision Business Unit and help Zebra further differentiate our growing portfolio of machine vision solutions," said Anders Gustafsson, Chief Executive Officer of Zebra Technologies.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
