IDS
Sales cooperation in the field of AI
The Fraunhofer spin-off Denkweit and the image processing company IDS Imaging Development Systems will be joining forces in future: the two companies have been cooperating on sales since the beginning of the year.
The common goal of both companies is to "make highly complex technologies as easily accessible and usable as possible", as IDS Managing Director Jan Hartmann explains. In particular, they want to intensively promote the topic of artificial intelligence. The potential offered by self-learning algorithms, not least in conjunction with image processing, is huge. "We want to encourage companies to significantly improve their processes and products by taking advantage of new opportunities for automation and digitalization," says Hartmann. The partnership with Denkweit is a logical consequence. "Our vision is to perfect image analysis for industrial applications by making complex technologies available in a simple, structured and customized way," emphasizes CEO Dr. Dominik Lausch. This is to be achieved through a high degree of usability and a clear focus on the actual, simplest possible solution. "It's not about the method behind it, not about how highly complex the image analysis actually is. The important thing is that both integrators and end customers receive an easy-to-use solution from us, even for tasks that were previously considered impossible to solve," explains Dr. Lausch.
The collaboration between the companies began back in 2021, when the founders from Saxony-Anhalt attracted attention at the AI competition held by IDS's own online marketplace visionpier. Numerous start-ups presented solutions from the field of AI vision. Denkweit impressed with an AI-supported monitoring system for security-relevant areas using drones. Both companies now want to exploit their similarities and the resulting synergies.
